Mongolia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Austria not only represents his country in Austria but also represents the Mongolian Government at United Nations organizations in Vienna.

He is also accredited concurrently as Mongolia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Italy and as Permanent Representative of Mongolia to World Food Organization (FAO).

The Embassy’s missions is to:

• Support the Ambassador to represent the country’s interests in Austria and Italy as well as the interests of the Government of Mongolia at the appropriate international organizations.
• Promote bilateral relations and to that end submit proposals to the Government of Mongolia.
• Protect by diplomatic means and in accordance with the norms of international law the rights and legitimate interests of Mongolia’s citizens and its legal entities.
• Render notary services
• Protect the legitimate interests of Mongolian citizens living in Austria and Italy.

When carrying out the above mission the Embassy enjoys the privileges and immunities provided by Mongolian law as well as stipulated by international law, including the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations and the Vienna Convention on consular relations.
