Resident Representative of Mongolia presented his credentials to the IAEA

The new Resident Representative of Mongolia, Gunaajav Batjargal, presented his credentials to Ambassador Yukia Amano, Director General of the IAEA. After the ceremony of presentations of credentials, Resident Representative Batjargal exchanged views with Director General Yukia Amano on the bilateral cooperation and expressed appreciation to Director General and his team for maintaining the focused areas of cooperation with Mongolia in such areas as capacity building and nuclear technology transfer in cancer treatment and foot-and-mouth disease. Furthermore, Ambassador Batjargal underlined that the 2013 marks the 40th anniversary of Mongolia’s membership to the IAEA and discussed the way forward in strengthening bilateral cooperation. Director General Yukia Amano reiterated that the Agency stands ready to further enhance the cooperation with Mongolia and spoke of the IAEA legal documents which need the ratification from the country and Mongolia’s participation in upcoming international nuclear security conferences at a ministerial level.
