Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 45 years ago, for the past four and half decades Mongolia and Austria have been developing friendly relations and cooperation in all spheres of human activity. The success of this relationship is reflection in Mongolia’s decision to open its Embassy in Vienna that would allow both sides to expand further these relations.

Mongolia and Austria, though geographically far apart, have many common traits, including rich histories, powerful neighbors and policy of neutrality in the possible disputes among them, lack of independent access to seas and oceans, and commitment not to allow nuclear weapons on their territories. These commonalities as well as
Mongolia’s expanding relations with the countries of the European Union create favorable conditions to expand further the bilateral relations.
Austria is an important center of international relations and multilateral diplomacy. That is why Mongolian Ambassador to Austria is also accredited as Resident Representative to United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna, including the IAEA, UN Office on Drugs and Crime, UNIDO, CTBTO and as Observer at OSCE. The website therefore shall try to provide information on Mongolia’s multilateral diplomacy in and work with these organizations.
This web platform shall try to offer you easier navigation, more interaction and better accessibility. I hope that you would be able to find the information that you are looking for. The links to the various sections will give you a better idea of the work that the Embassy does.
The Consular section of the Embassy works with the Mongolian citizens that live or study in Austria.
