Mongolia Young Leaders Program was initiated by MonAme Scientific Research Center and the first annual conference took place in Washington DC, USA in March 2009 with the support of the Mongolian Embassy in the United States, the North America-Mongolia Business Council and the Zorig Foundation. In Mongolia, the Young Leaders Program was established by Zorig Foundation and has been active since 2003.
Based on the success of last year’s conference, the Mongolian Young Leaders Program is expanding into Europe in 2010 to include Mongolian students who are enrolled at top European universities. This year’s event will be organized by MonAme Scientific Research Center with the cooperation of the Honorary Consul of Mongolia designate in Milan and with the support of the Mongolian Embassy in Austria (Mongolian Ambassador to Austria is also concurrently accredited as Ambassador to Italy) and the Zorig Foundation.
The Mongolia Young Leaders Program in Europe is scheduled to take place from the 6th to 7th of May, in Milan, and will be hosted by the Italian-Mongolian Business Council. The initiative has received support of the President of Mongolia Tsakhia Elbegdorj.
The aim of this conference is to challenge Mongolia’s best young talented minds into thinking about the sustainable prosperity of Mongolia, to provide an opportunity for the studentfellows to meet with one another and to exchange their views and opinions about the current and future state of democracy and the economic and human development of Mongolia, and ultimately, to motivate them to become future political, intellectual and business leaders of the country. During last year’s conference, nine outstanding fellows from leading US universities were chosen and given the opportunity to visit the World Bank headquarters and the US Congress to participate in meetings and discussion forums with H.E Ambassador Kh. Bekhbat, Mr. Steve Saunders, Chairman of North America-Mongolia Business Council, and members of the US House of Representatives.
We highly encourage students to apply to take advantage of this great opportunity to meet fellow Mongolian students and some of Italy’s most important political and economic leaders by coming to the financial and fashion capital of Italy: Milan!
