Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister S.Batbold received Tuesday a delegation headed by Mr. M.Pulz, Deputy head of the Representative Office of the European Union (EU) in China. Present at the meeting were the Ambassadors of Germany, France, UK and the Czech Republic to Mongolia; the charge d'affairs of Bulgaria as well as an official of the Dutch Embassy in Mongolia.
The meeting was held in conjunction with the decision of the EU to render aid of EUR 2 million to Mongolia to deal with the consequences of the zud disaster that struck the country during 2009-2010 winter.

Mr. Pulz said that the aid from the EU is a sincere expression of the EU to help Mongolia. In response, the Premier expressed gratitude to the EU for rendering this aid at a difficult time when the country is trying to overcome the devastating effects of the zud disaster.
The Prime Minister said he was satisfied with the intensive development of the Mongolia-EU relations and cooperation. He added that Mongolia now was working to introduce the European standards and to conclude the talks of the Mongolia-EU to conclude a partnership and cooperation agreement.
Mr. Pulz underlined that the EU was working on a cooperation development program with Mongolia and that expressed the hope that the sides would soon achieve concrete progress in their cooperation.
