On August 25, a consular consultative meeting between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and Republic of Korea ran at the Foreign Ministry of Mongolia.
Talks were held between D.Gankhuyag, Director of the Consular Department of the Foreign Ministry, and Peg Ju Heong, Director of the S. Korean Ministry’s Consular Department.
The Mongolian side expressed its position and put forward proposals on implementation of previously discussed issues, on realization of contracts and agreements on consular ties and on facilitating visiting terms of peoples of the two countries.
The Korean side raised the issue of protecting civil interests of Koreans in Mongolia, providing Mongolian citizens married with the Koreans with information, controlling certificates
of Mongolian students studying in Korea, updating the agreement on using airspace, and of prolonging Koreans visa terms in Mongolia.
The sides underlined that Mongolia-Korea relations have been
intensively developing pursuant to the principle of good neighborhood,friendship and cooperation partnership,and that mutual visits of peoples of the countries have been increasing. The two sides stressed that “Cooperation in the consular sector is widening with effectiveness in protecting citizens’ interests thanks to a regularity of consular consultative meetings.”
Mongolia proposed that S.Korea run some new activities in frames ofconsular ties and improve the visiting terms for peoples of the countries
