At its regular meeting on September 16, the following matters were discussed

Salary of state workers and pensions from social insurance and welfare funds to increase
During the spring session of the parliament, adjustment was made to the State Budget and required funding was included to raise the salary of state workers and all types of pensions and allowances
giving from social insurance and welfare funds by 30 percent starting October 1, 2010. In connection,the cabinet resolved this issue.

Salary of state workers to increase
The cabinet made a decision to raise the salary of state workers by 30 percent beginning October 1,2010. The average monthly salary of state workers is now Tgs 323.0 thousand; in that workers of State administration have a salary of Tgs 336.7 thousand and workers of State services receive Tgs321.3 thousand while workers of State special service receive Tgs310.0 thousand. As the salary raises, State administration workers will have a salary of Tgs 437.7 thousand,state service workers will have a salary of Tgs 417.7 thousand and workers of state special service will receive a salary Tgs403.9 thousand. The lowest salary of State workers was Tgs145.134, but it will increase to Tgs188.674.Some 154,000 State workers are involved in the salary increase.

Pensions from the social insurance fund to increase
All types of pensions given from the social insurance fund will increase by 30 percent starting October 1, 2010. The lowest retirement pension which is now Tgs81,000 per month will increase to Tgs105,300. A proportional retirement pension will increase to Tgs70,200. A total of 308.0 thousand pensioners will be involved.

Allowances and conditional allowances to increase
Social welfare allowances for those who are single elders without a caretaker, disabled people and fully orphaned children will increase by 30 percent. As of today, the monthly social welfare allowance is Tgs 41,400 and will increase to Tgs53,820 from October 1. It will cover 52.0 thousand people.Moreover, people who care bed patients, elders, disabled people and full orphaned children are given allowance every month under the definite conditions. Currently this conditional allowance is Tgs24,000 and will increase to Tgs31,200.
