On October 21, 2009 President Ts.Elbegdorj called on Jack Weatherford, cultural anthropologist and Professor at Macalester College and author of ‘Gengghis Khaan and the Making of the Modern World’ that has been published in 22 countries and named as the New York Times’ best book.

Their meeting started with Prof. Weatherford congratulating Ts. Elbegdorj on his appointment as Mongolia’s President.
On arriving in Mongolia this time, the Professor published his famous book in Mongolian and his new book ‘The Secret History of Mongol Queens’ pending its launch in the USA and other countries during spring in 2010. He presented copies of these two books to the President.
After studying Mongolia for the last 30 years, Prof. Weatherford confirmed that next spring he would present to the Mongolian people his very rare collection of more than 50 Mongolian maps drawn in European countries, such as Germany, England and Italy, since the 15th Century.
During their meeting, the President thanked President Elbegdorj congratulating Professor Weatherford on his new book Prof. Weatherford for publicizing Mongolian history, culture and traditions to the world through his books and asked him to consider writing a book about modern-day Mongolia.
The Professor promised to consider this request carefully and reply in the near future.
