On October 30, 2009 Prime Minister S. Batbold called on Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the State Emergency Commission (SEC), M.Enkhbold, Health Minister S. Lambaa, and Chief of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ts.Amgalanbayar, for an update on the current H1N1/swine-flu pandemic
situation in Mongolia and gave the following instructions:

- Urgently set up a Government working group to assess the actual situation, together with SEC and Health Ministry draw up planned actions consistent with Mongolia’s specific needs.
- Use media organizations’ assistance to distribute correct information to people about protection against the virus and about existing cases.
- Improve the consistency between State administrative organizations’ actions, for instance, health, specialized inspection, emergency, border, intelligence and police organizations.
- Governors at all levels were instructed to take steps to publish information to protect citizens and organization personnel.
- SEC was given the task of analyzing information about the flu’s spread, the situation in regard to recorded infections, and of providing Government and Parliament with immediate and regular information and action reports to ensure that appropriate resolutions are released.
- The Health and Finance Ministers were given the duty of urgently attending to the issue of obtaining medication and vaccines from abroad.
