A Resolution was released at the Cabinet meeting to call a heightened state of alert in order to protect people from the H1N1 virus.

According to the Resolution, this state of readiness covers the whole of Mongolia for two weeks from November 5. Shops, catering facilities, bars and restaurants are allowed to remain open until 9 pm, whereas public meetings, conferences, art and cultural measures, as well as bazaars/markets are to remain closed.
In connection with the announced heightened state of readiness, health organizations are providing urgent medical assistance for those infected and are make efforts to reduce difficulties and deaths during this extraordinary regime. Permanent medical services and mobile points have been set up at university and
education campuses in addition to inter-city transportation facilities sterilization being intensified.
This year’s regularly announced autumn date has been postponed for two weeks. In regard to education, pupils at secondary schools will continue their studies by watching ‘Education’ and other TV channels.
Several organizations instructed to set up emergency-response groups to provide 24-hour services include: the Ministry of Health, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Ministry of Road, Transportation and Urban Development, the State Specialized Inspection Agency, the General Authority for Border Protection and the General Police Department.
