On November 13, 2009 Prime Minister S.Batbold called on Jung Jang Seon, a member of the Republic of Korea’s National Assembly (NA).

Their meeting started with the Prime Minister expressing his satisfaction with meeting Mr. Seon again and congratulated him on receiving an Honorary Doctorate from the National University of Mongolia (NUM).
The Prime Minister emphasized the regularity of mutual visits and political negotiations, and expressed confidence that the Korean President would visit Mongolia during their bilateral diplomatic relations 20th anniversary to be marked in 2010. The Prime Minister also drew attention to requirements: for overcoming difficulties encountered in attempts to enhance their countries’ bilateral trade and investment efforts; ensure the free flow of goods by creating
a free trade environment; and for expanding cooperation with Korea’s biggest companies in the mining, infrastructural, banking, financial and service sectors.
PM Batbold thanked the Korean side for giving attention to: protecting the interests of Mongolians living in Korea and providing job opportunities for them; as well as underlining the importance of improving travel conditions for Mongolian citizens; tackling transportation issues and re-establishing their air transportation agreement.
Mr. Seon in turn congratulated S. Batbold on being appointed as Mongolia’s Prime Minister, and referring to the latter’s special contributions to develop Korean-Mongolia relations during his term as the country’s Foreign Minister and his efforts and attention to ensure free product exchanges between their countries, in the agricultural, health, education and travel sectors.
Mr. Seon confirmed South Korea’s willingness to enter into a free trade agreement with Mongolia, saying that he believes it will be essential to conduct a pertinent survey amongst Mongolia’s businessmen and its private sector before drawing up the agreement. In addition, the Korean Parliamentarian undertook to attend to the Korean President’s visit to Mongolia and to give all-round support to intensify the Intergovernmental Commission’s activities.
