At a press conference called by Gandan Monastery on the occasion of the Dalai Lama’s visit, it was stressed that His holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s visit was purely religious without any political blend. The head Khambo lama of Gandan Monastery D.Choijamts said: “Mongols revered and worshiped His Holiness for a long time. Believers and lamas were waiting for his arrival. The present visit was arranged at the wish of thousands of Buddhist followers and lamas. Faith and religion in democratic society is free, this is why His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama has been invited to visit our country two-three months earlier”.
