The 4th regular Consultative Meeting between Mongolia’s and the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Affairs Ministries’ Consular Sections was held at Mongolia’s Foreign Ministry on November 11, 2009.
The sides concluded an agreement to implement issues discussed during their previous meeting, agreeing to attend to eliminating errors when exchanging information about Mongolian and Kazakhstan people under sentences in both countries or where such people are the victims of crimes.

The sides agreed to support law enforcement authorities in joint efforts to apprehend people using forged passports in attempts to gain Kazakhstan citizenship.
The Mongolian side emphasized its concern about the increasing number of Mongolians falling victim to trans-national and organized crimes, such as, illegal drug carrying and human trafficking, proposing that joint efforts be made to fight these crimes with help from their countries’ law enforcement organizations.
The sides discussed ways to prevent dual citizenships, concluding that an agreement must be set in this regard, and then focused on difficulties being faced by Mongolians with Kazakhstan citizenships when applying for transit-visas via Russia and decided to raise this with the relevant Russian authorities through
their respective channels.
The Kazakhstani delegation was headed by B.J. Seitbattalov, head of the Consular Section at Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry.
After the meeting, D. Gankhuyag, head of the Consular Section at Mongolia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, and Mr. Seitbattalov were interviewed by media journalists.
