H1N1 Heightened state of alert eases

The cabinet made a decision at its regular meeting to lower the heightened state of alert to the level
of “every day protection” beginning December 3rd.

S. Lambaa, Minister of Health was tasked to continue preventive measures for swine-flu by maintaining a heightened state of alert in the health sector, provide vaccinations, promptly organize immunization, and report to the governmental working group to minimize virus spread each week.

In addition, all levels’ of governors, mayors and heads of emergency commissions were ordered to control the virus spread nationwide, by ensuring that organizations, entities, and families maintain strict sanitation and disinfection rules.


As of December 1, 2009, there were a total of 1,162 confirmed cases of swine-flu in Mongolia with 23 cases resulting in death. Since its establishment, the Government’s working group has held ten meetings, addressed 62 issues, resolved 60, and has 2 issues pending
