President Ts. Elbegdorj left for the USA on September 20, 2009 to participate in the UN General Assembly’s 64th Session that opened in New York on September 15.

Kh. Bekhbat, Mongolia’s Ambassador in the USA; Ambassador O. Enkhtsetseg, Mongolia’s Permanent UN Representative; Ch. Saikhanbileg MP, head of the Mongolia-USA Parliamentary Group; L. Gansukh MP, Minister of Environment and Tourism; B.Bolor, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister; Presidential Advisors–Ts. Sukhbaatar, Foreign Policy; P. Tsagaan, Minerals, Energy and Infrastructure; E. Zorigt, Environmental and Resources; A.Ganbaatar, Public Relations and Public Policy; together with other officials accompanied the President to the USA.
The President is to chair a roundtable meeting to be held in the scope of the UN Summit on Climate Change, and is to be interviewed by newsmagazines and news agencies, such as, the ‘News Week’, ‘The Economist’, ‘Forbes’, ‘Bloomberg’ and ‘Reuters’, according to the visit’s program.
In addition, President Elbegdorj is to meet Mr. Ban Kimoon, the UN Secretary-General; Bill Clinton, former US President; Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar; Lee Myung-bak, President of the Republic of Korea; Ali Triki, President of the 64th Session; billionaire George Soros; and Thomas Freedman, a publicist at the New York Times. The Mongolian President is also to attend a reception for the US President, Barack Obama.
