Mongolia joined the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) during the 4th forum for the FEALAC Foreign Ministers' Meeting that was held January 16-17 in Tokyo, Japan.

The FEALAC was established in 1999 with the main purpose promoting wider cooperation, mutual understanding and talks on political and economic issues among East Asian and Latin American countries. It has 33 members, of which 15 are East Asian countries and 18 - Latin America. Mongolia became the 34th member of FEALAC.

The State Secretary of the Foreign Minister D.Tsogtbaatar gave speech at the Foreign Ministers' Meeting to express a gratitude on behalf of Mongolia's government for letting Mongolia become the FEALAC member.
