The second group of the 9th contingent participating in UN peacekeeping operations will leave for Sierra-Leone next week. This contingent has 50 servicemen of the Mongolian Armed Forces (MAF). Earlier, 100 Mongolian peacekeepers of the first group went to Sierra-Leone on February 11. The previous contingent having 125 servicemen returned home on February 14, the first day of first month of this year’s spring. Other servicemen of the 8th contingent will return home after the next troops arrive in the African country.

This time, a total of 150 servicemen of the 9th contingent will be there for six months ensuring security for the international special court organized by the UN.
