Harvest result’s report

The 2009 harvest results were introduced for Government members at the regular Cabinet meeting.
According to preliminary estimates farmers have so far harvested 392,900 tonne of grain from a 245,200 ha area; 156,000 tonne of potatoes from a 13,100 ha area; and 81,400 tonne of vegetables from a 6,500 ha area. Mongolia will thus be able to provide 86.1 percent of its annual grain requirements, as well.
Heightened state of alert extended by 2 weeks

Deputy Prime Minister M.Enkhbold told the press on November 18, 2009 that it had been decided to extend the heightened state of alert period by a further 2 weeks.
Cabinet members discussed the matter at their November 18 meeting and decided on the 2-week extension, as well as on some regulations based on the current situation wherein the H1N1 swine-flu outbreak has not effectively decreased.

Judo wrestler Kh.Tsagaanbaatar, a Hero of Mongolia, merited sportsman, Athens Olympic Games’ bronze medalist, 2009 World Champion, and twice Asian Continent

The pandemic flu is a global outbreak of a new strain of influenza A virus, subtype H1N1, termed Pandemic H1N1/09 virus by the World Health Organizations (WHO). It was first identified in April 2009.
The disease has also been termed novel influenza A (H1N1), and colloquially called swine flu. The outbreak was observed in Mexico. Cases of swine flu have risen slightly, with an estimated 5,000 died of 414,000 infections of the laboratory-confirmed in the beginning of November, reported to the WHO.... More>>

Mongolia Stays in High Alert on Swine Influenza

The number of people infected with the A-type of H1N1 strain of swine influenza had risen to 929, according to the Ministry of Health.
By Monday, the death toll of the virus had risen to nine, and 24 people were waiting for lab test results, Deputy Premier M.Enkhbold said at a press conference.
According to Enkhbold, the special working group headed by him, ordered all public and business organizations to grant a month-paid holiday for their pregnant employees as H1N1 flu ... More>>
