OSCE holds online workshop for Central Asia police

VIENNA, 5 October 2009 - An online workshop for police trainers in Central Asian participating States and partner countries organized by the OSCE Strategic Police Matters Unit started today.
More than 30 police training experts and managers from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia are taking part in the five-day workshop on the OSCE POLIS website. Mongolia’s Armed Forces’ peacekeepers paid respect to the General Military Banner and took the oath of loyalty to motherland and people on September 21 before being deployed to Afghanistan for service in the ‘Sustainable Freedom’ operation. Boxer Purevdorj Serdamba (24) has won Mongolia’s first-ever World Championship gold medal at the 2009 AIBA World Boxing Championships, held in Milan, Italy from September 1 to 12. The Olympic silver medalist Serdamba beat Russia’s David Ayrapetyan 10-5 to win the light-flyweight world title on Saturday, 12 September.
